Glenn Smith is an experienced maintenance and manufacturing engineer
with over thirty-seven years of experience in engineering maintenance,
electrical/instrument field, maintenance supervision, safety management
and area operations.
As maintenance supervisor for E.I. Dupont, Glenn was
responsible for developing and implementing preventive/predictive
maintenance schedules and developing planning/scheduling metrics and
cost metrics. Mr. Smith had supervisory responsibilities over approximately
36 employees, as well as managing a $3 million budget. Having served
as a planner/scheduler for over eight years, Glenn is able to cover
the "nuts and bolts" of P&S in an easy to understand,
As electronic materials system manager, Mr. Smith managed
accounts, standard descriptions and capital work orders. Glenn was
also responsible for training planners in planning and scheduling
techniques, as well as the project management system. This in-depth
background has made him a key contributor in Marshall Institute's
development of "advanced planning and scheduling" materials.
He is also assisting with our current development of a maintenance
model to assist clients with an overall blueprint for manufacturing
Mr. Smith has a Business Administration educational
background. Among his various accomplishments, Glenn has received
Dupont's Maintenance Excellence Team Award, Outstanding Leadership
Awards, nominated for Dupont Fibers Maintenance Excellence, and was
recognized for successful project management during a hurricane disaster.
He brings his wealth of knowledge and know-how to Marshall
Institute programs in a lively and professional presentation that
will leave attendees both informed and highly motivated.
